There were hundreds of students couldn’t go to school because they were poor.
The book makes us be interested in music.
The noise made us couldn’t concentrate on our studies.
a. They ∧ all against the plan.
b. 搭配错误 fix one’s attention to sth./doing sth.
He remembered his wallet had ∧ lost in the bus.
The matter was happened two years ago.
I am think that I’ll learn how to use a computer.
Every student in our class study very hard.
The Chinese is a hard-working people.
We visited many buildings in the city such as library, laboratory and teaching building.
Welcome you come to our school to visit.
正:You’re welcome to visit our school.
2) “Chinglish”表达法
My height is 180 centimeters and my body is healthy.
正:I’m 180 centimeters tall and I’m healthy.
Mr Li is good at teaching. He has many ways of teaching his students.
正:Mr Li is good at teaching. He has many teaching methods.
It is not only the boy but also his parents are kind to others.
正:Not only the boy but also his parents are kind to others.
He doesn’t know what and how to do it.
正:He doesn’t know what to do and how to do it.
考生应学会使用and , so, then , at the same time , on one hand , on the other hand , besides , what’s more, moreover, therefore, in that case , I’m afraid, I think等表示过渡及连接的词汇,这样就可以有效地增强文章的可读性,增加文章的感情色彩。

A
It was New Year’s Night. An aged man was standing at a window. He raised his mournful eyes towards the deep blue sky, where the stars were floating like white lilies(百合花) on the surface of a clear calm lake.
He had already passed sixty and brought from his journey nothing but errors and regrets. Now his health was poor, his mind vacant and his heart sorrowful.
The days of his youth appeared like dreams before him, and he recalled the serious moment when his father placed him at the entrance of the two roads—one leading to a peaceful, sunny place, covered with flowers, fruits and filled with soft, sweet songs; the other leading to a deep, dark cave, which was endless, where poison flowed instead of water and poisonous snakes hissed and crawled(爬).
He saw the lights flowing away in the darkness. These were the days of his wasted life; he saw a star fall from the sky and disappeared, and this was the symbol of himself. His regret like a sharp arrow struck deeply into his heart. Then he remembered his friends in his childhood. But they had made their way to success and were now honoured and happy on this night.
The high church clock struck and the sound made him remember his parents’ early love for him. They had taught him and prayed for his good. But he chose the wrong way. With shame and grief he dared no longer look towards that heaven. His darkened eyes were full of tears, and with a despairing effort, he burst out a cry: “Come back, my early days!”
His youth did return, for all this was only a dream which he had on New Year’s Night. He was still young though his faults were real; he had not yet entered the deep, dark cave, and he was still free to walk on the road which leads to the peaceful and sunny land.
Those who still wander on the entrance of life, hesitating to choose the bright road, remember that when years are passed and your feet stumble (绊倒) on the dark mountains, you will cry bitterly, but in vain: “Oh youth, return! Oh give me back my early days!”

The new product identification and tracking system, which has been in the spotlight recently over concerns that it may raise production costs, has been written into the draft food safety law, a senior quality control official said Tuesday.
“The system has become part of the draft food safety law and will become a legal obligation(义务) for all food companies if it is passed by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC),” Pu Changcheng, deputy director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), said at a working conference in Beijing.
“The system, which allocates a unique code to every product, is another major step forward in ensuring quality,” he added.
The AQSIQ originally said that by the end of June, all products in nine categories, including food, cosmetics and home appliances, must carry a code or they will not be allowed to be sold. The deadline was later extended to the end of the year.
Food companies, however, have argued the system will increase their production costs. More than 20 firms, including Nestle, Mars, Coca-Cola and Pepsico, have submitted a joint petition against the system.
The system will require new equipment to be purchased, and will slow production. Besides, changes will have to be made to packaging and design, the firms said in the petition.
In a report submitted to the AQSIQ, the China National Food Industry Association said all 40 of the food companies it surveyed last month said the system will raise their production costs, and 31 said it may lead to price rises of up to 15 percent.
Some firms also said the codes were difficult to print on some packaging materials.
“More importantly, the system is of little use in ensuring product safety, as it doesn’t deal with the quality of raw materials. Also, the system doesn’t apply to small food plants, and they have the most problems,” said Li Yu, director of Mars China.
In response, Song Mingchang, director of the system’s promotion office, said, “the administration will work with food companies to iron out problems as they arise. The AQSIQ has extended the deadline for the introduction of the codes, but the system is highly necessary.”
63. According to the passage, the new system has the following negative effects except _______.
A. slowdown in production B. increase in production costs
C. difficulty in printing codes D. closedown of small food plants
64. The underlined word “petition” in paragraph 5 most probably means _______.
A. a certificate B. a written request
C. an agreement D. a permit
65. It can be inferred from Song Mingchang’s response that _______.
A. the AQSIQ will have to give in to the food companies
B. some problems will arise from the food safety system
C. the AQSIQ will certainly carry out the food safety system
D. the food prices will increase sharply under the new system
66. What is the passage mainly about?
A. A new food safety system put in draft law.
B. A survey conducted among the food companies.
C. A new challenge faced by food companies.
D. A new way used by the AQSIQ to carry out the system.
D
A breathtaking trick potentially left over from our ancestors might be found in us — the ability to sense oxygen through our skin.
Amphibians, animals such as frogs that can live both on land and in water, have long been known to be capable of breathing through their skin. In fact, the first known lungless frog that breathes only through its skin was discovered recently in the rivers of Borneo.
Now the same oxygen sensors found in frog skins and in the lungs of mammals (哺乳动物) have
unexpectedly been discovered in the skin of mice.
“No one had ever looked,” explained Randall Johnson, a biologist researcher.
Mice and frogs are quite distant relatives, so the fact they have these molecules (分子) in common in their skin suggests they might well be found in the skin of other mammals, such as humans.
“We have no reason to think that they are not in the skin of people too,” Johnson said.
These molecules not only detect oxygen, but help increase levels of vital red blood cells, which carry oxygen around the body. Normal mice breathing in air that is 10 percent oxygen—a dangerously low level similar to conditions at the top of Mount Everest, and about half that of air at sea level. However, mice that had the oxygen sensor HIF-1a genetically removed from their skin failed to produce this hormone (荷尔蒙) even after hours of such low oxygen.
These findings, if they hold true in humans, suggest one could raise the level of oxygen circulating inside the body. This could help treat lung diseases and disorders such as anemia (贫血症) without injecting drugs, which make up a multibillion-dollar market, Johnson said.
Athletes also often try to get more oxygen delivered to their muscles in order to improve their performance. They often do this by training at high altitudes or in low-oxygen tents. The new study suggests they might want to expose their skin as well as breathing in low-oxygen air to improve their performance. “It’s hard to say what exactly might be done, however—there’s a lot we don’t know yet,” Johnson explained.
The scientists detailed their findings in the April 18 issue of the journal Cell.
67. Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the passage?
A. Johnson believes that Oxygen sensors also exist in human skin.
B. People have to surf the Internet to read detailed findings.
C. It has been proved that these findings help treat lung diseases.
D. It has long been expected oxygen sensors exist in mice’s skin.
68. One of the functions of the molecules mentioned above is _______.
A. carrying oxygen around the body B. improving athletes’ performance
C. detecting oxygen D. increasing level of oxygen
69. What is Johnson’s attitude to the application of the findings to the athletes’ training?
A. Negative B. Doubting C. Positive D. Hesitating
70. The best title of the passage may be _______.
A. Great Findings Benefits Athletes A Lot
B. Frogs And Mice Are Distant Relatives
C. First Known Animal Breathes Through Skin
D. Humans Might Sense Oxygen Through Skin

Tai Chi exercises can help people with type 2 diabetes (糖尿病) control their condition, research suggests.
Two separate studies found a 12-week program of exercise was enough to improve the immune(免疫)system, and to cut blood sugar levels. The traditional Chinese martial art combines deep breathing and gentle movement to improve relaxation levels. Both studies, by researchers in Taiwan and Australia, appear in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
The first study, by a team in Taiwan, compared 30 people with diabetes with 30 healthy people acting as controls. Over 12 weeks the participants learned 37 Tai Chi movements under the guidance of an expert, and took home a video to study the correct poses. They took part in three -hour-long sessions a week. At the end of the program, tests on the group with type 2 diabetes showed a drop in their blood sugar level, and an improvement in the level of cells and chemicals key to a healthy immune response.
Strenuous (过量的) physical activity is harmful to the immune system, but the latest study suggests that more appropriate exercise may have the opposite effect.
Previous research has suggested Tai Chi improves heart-related and breathing-related function, as well as improving flexibility and relieving stress.
The second study by the University of Queensland, based on just 11 participants, produced similar results. In this study the participants-who all had raised blood sugar levels-attended sessions of Tai Chi for 60 to 90 minutes three times a week. As well as a drop in blood sugar levels, the participants lost weight, and recorded significant falls in blood pressure. Insulin (胰岛素) resistance was also improved. Participants also said they slept better, had more energy, felt less pain and had fewer food appetites while on the program.
Cathy Moulton from Diabetes UK recommends that people with diabetes do a minimum of 30 minutes of appropriate physical activity on at least five days of the week. She said: "Any activity that leaves you feeling warm and a little breathless but still able to hold a conversation counts as appropriate exercise—including energetically cleaning the house, quickly walking the dog and of course Tai Chi, the relaxation element of which may help to reduce stress levels.”

One possible version:
When the son tripped over a new rug and spilt some ink on it, his father was angry and decided to punish him. Coming back with a stick in his hand, the father was surprised to find his son painting a monkey where the rug was stained. Considering it as a creative idea to cover the stain and decorated the rug, the father joined his son by adding a dragon on it. Looking at their work, they were quite happy.
I think parents should allow their kids more freedom even when they’ve done something wrong since making mistakes is a natural way they explore and learn new things, without which they cannot really grow up. Besides, parents should give their kids more encouragement and get actively involved in their activities. As a result, their relationship can be improved and the kids’ imagination and creativity can also be developed.
